Default Help With Instructions

Hi All!

There is a bow on the Girly Things website under the free instructions called a Tuxedo bow. I am really having difficulty understanding these directions, but I LOVE the light pink bow at the bottom and really want to make one. I have done a search here for Tuxedo Bow, but it is not the same bow. Can anyone help me, or maybe if you know of another name it goes by? Thanks to all!! http://www.girlythingsbows.com/tuxedo_bow.html

I donīt know how to do it but the only thing I can tell you is that this is not a tuxedo bow at all...
Letīs see if other ladies in the forum have the instructions because is different from a boutique or a twisted...

Scroll down to #14 http://www.hipgirlclips.com/store/in...oducts_id=3048

14. Make 2 x 3" bow-tie bow, wrap together side by side

Before wrapping/sewing, instead of side by side, do a criss-cross, then proceed to wrapping/sewing. You'll get the same effect like the Pink one.

I like how the pink bow has 2 layers, with the top layer being a bit smaller than the bottom layer. Maybe if I make 4 tuxedo bows and put 2 of the larger ones criscrossed on the bottom and 2 of the smaller ones criscrossed on the top it would work?? What do you think? I'll have to try it tomorrow! Thanks everyone!

Totally will work.

1. Criss-cross the top bow, say about 3" finished width
2. Criss-cross the bottomw bow, say about 4" finished width (or 3.5", experiment with this one as I'm not quite sure)
3. Stack the 2 together (sew or tie)
4. Finish it off with center ribbon & clips
5. Done..

Attempt #1: Poor, sad little bow!!! All thin looking a yucky-creased!! So what I've learned is 1) I need to use thicker ribbon (I used 7/8 - think I'll try 1.5 next time), and 2) instead of creasing each loop individually, I just need to crease the whole bow at once. I am too embarrassed to post a picture...

No worries... you're to use 1.5 actually.. =) But it's ok..That's how we learn. I'd say try with 3.5" for the top and 4" for a start... don't forget, use 1.5".

p/s: You can crease the 2 criss-cross thingy (lol) together.. (Might be thick but shud be ok)
