Cutting felt with spellbinders/sizzix

Does anyone use the spellbinders nestibilities die cuts with a sizzix (the original)? The only felt I can find that it will cut through is the wool felt & it is pricey. I try not to use it when I am selling in this local store because they do not pay me a ton for what I give them. I tried the normal Joanns, etc. felt & it will not cut. Any suggestions on a cheaper felt or do you know if the cheaper felt cuts with the Grand Calibur?

Hey... I cut tons of felt and lately thick polar fleece for my Poinsettia Collar Blooms! You have to use 1 or 2 cardboard shims to get thru it.

So my sandwich is:

White base plate with all tabs closed, 1 clear plate, nestie cut side up, felt,
another clear place and 2 cardstock shims. Actually, my shims are a bit thicker than card stock, more like cereal boxes I suppose.

I usually place the felt or material between a couple sheets of scrap paper or junk mail and use the sizzix then, goes through like butter but without the mess!

You use the sizzix original? What clear plate? I have the annoying, too small adaptor plates. Do you have a link for what you are using? Thanks for your help btw!!!!!

Sorry, I read your first post too quickly.....I use sizzix dies with my sizzix original. I haven't tried any others.

haha, thats ok!! I tried right away & thought I was an idiot!! This is making me crazy that I cannot get it to cut.

Oh, you must have the red Sizzix.... I have the Big Shot and Big Shot Express (electric one) sorry!

Your Big shot (not express) cuts it crisp? I was going to buy one, but wanted to make sure first.
