Default Which bow should I tackle first?

Hi! I have been spending too much time on this forum lately but it's a good thing. Reading through posts I got to one of a senior member advicing another member that she was tackling the harder bows first. This made me think if maybe I am doing the same thing?

I did take a bow making class at Joann's but the teacher wasn't a skilled one and really left the place without any knowledge of making bows. Talk about a waste of money! She did show us some clippies and that's is how I found this GREAT forum.

So, which is a good bow to start with? I need somebody to help me and guide me so I can start making decent bows and not giving up. Should I start with a pinwheel? Twisted? Clippies?

I should add that I have bought MANY tuts on bow making, videos and watched many more... So I know it takes patience (running short on that) and practice but my point is I need to practice on bows that are easier. I have been attempting to make a twisted with JustDaisy tut and that is not going too good so again that might be a hard bow to start with?

TIA!

My first bows were just free handed bows. They were ok, but now I look bad and can't believe the changes I've made. I bought the templates from BBM and really like them. I like to make matching bows, so this way my bows come on exactly the same. There are lots of simple bows you can start with. And I bought justdaisy's tut too and I am practicing daily. That is not a bow to start with. She is just awesome and can make beautiful bows. I hope mine look like that some day.

This might be a dumb question but, which one is the basic boutique?
There are so many bows I lost track of their names.

Yeap, maybe I am trying hard bows to start with...

I will have to just get the templates and see is that helps me. I am beyond frustrated with making bows but I don't want to give up just yet...

Thanks for all the input and help. You are all great!

Before you go and spend the money try this video. I made my own templates till they just kept wearing out so I bought the NBNG.
This video was made by a fellow hip girl. Helped me a lot!

This is a good video!!!

I made my templates from cardboard (from a brown box) so they will last long. I tried a few techniques and w/a template the loops comes out more even so I'm happy with the results. Here is my recent work...

I started my bow hobby (around 3-4 month ago) making the twisted bows and I got really frustrated!!! so I stopped and started doing pinwheels... I love them and they are so easy, after a few weeks I came back to the twisted bows and now I feel comfortable but I still some practice...

Good luck
