Default A question about lining

I was just wondering why it seems no one fully lines their alligator clips? Is there a particular reason?

I have started to do this and I am having a difficult time getting the top and bottom lined perfectly even, does anyone have any tips?

I'm curious too, although I think it has something to do with the clip staying in the hair better if its partly lined. Plus its easier to put on headbands with a loop if the loop is on the tight side. However I really like the look of a fully lined clip. Just looks more finished. But each to their own I guess.

I don't fully line because it's harder to slide the bottom part into ponytails/pigtails. I have some fully lined ones, but find I prefer the partially lined ones, as do my customers.

Also, I mainly use double sided tape to line mine, with a dab of hot glue in the beginning and the end. This combo gives me smooth, permanent hold with no clips tossed in the trash anymore (I'm a perfectionist).

I used to fully line my clips as I felt they presented better until I realised they are much more user friendly partially lined so opted to go with the partially lined ones.

I love the look of a fully lined clip when it is setting on my work table, but once in my DD's hair you can't tell that it is fully lined. Fully lined clips slip out of my girls hair, and that is if I can even get it in there without it messing up their hair or hurting them.....

I was fully lining my clips too until I realized how freakin difficult it was to get the end inside the clip to be fully glued down and NOT catch on my dd's hair when I take it out. After many "owwwwwwww mama!!!!" 's I decided to partially line LOL

I guess I will start partially lining my clips since I couldn't put one of my clippies in DD hair and now I know why LOL
