Default Which side?

I have a question.

Looking at a double prong alligator clip, one 'side' stays flat on a surface if you lay it. The 'top' part is kind of on an angle. When you put your hair clip on your child's hair, does the 'bottom' part go near the scalp or the angled part or what I call the 'top' part go near the scalp?
Hope that makes sense.

Also, which side should I stick the no slip grip on? I tried both ways but I can't tell if it makes much difference.

Thanks!

On mine, the angled part up is the top and the flat side is the bottom. I partially line my clips...under the top, sides and partially on the bottom (first 1/4 maybe) and I add the slip grip to the top (where the ribbon is).

I've always attached my bows to the angled part of the clip, so the flat piece is what is closest to the head. I fully line my clips, and put the grip on the top, closest to the bow. Otherwise it can be hard to get it in the hair.

Depending on what I am gluing on. For any bows etc I generally glue to the angled part and have the flat bit against the head. However for flowers I like the flip the clip over and use the flat part so that the flower sits flat.
