I fold my bows freehand, and tie off using the Gator Bite, and never have a problem with my creases, as long as I pull fast and tight, they crease perfectly. I use waxed Dental Floss. I tried many other things, and always come back to this.....If I am giving my bows to some else I will sometimes run a stich through the crease, but that is if I remember!

mabear, what dental floss do you use? The ones I see in the store here are all either red (for cinnamon) or green (for mint). I just don't like the looks of those

I have some from Meijer's currently, but have found it at Kroger's and Wal-Mart. I do actually have some mint and cinnamon too! Since you don't see the area that is tied off once the ribbon center is on I don't worry about it. I use whatever I'm in the mood for Just be careful if you use cinnamon. I rubbed my eyes once and my eye get so inflamed it swelled shut!

I only use Waxed though, one time I accidently bought unwaxed, and it doesn't "catch" as well.

Thin elastic thread works best for me. When I tried sewing I would never get the middle right. It would always be off centered. With thread its easy to adjust to the center. Wire always hurt my fingers and was bulky. I personally don't think sewing is that important. I have never had a bow come undone even with my 2 yo pulling them out of her hair and playing with them.

I have never had one come apart either....I tie and glue layered bows together, and they have made it through the washing machine, dogs mouths, and quite a few other things just fine. Korkers are another story, those I ALWAYS sew!

I actually use the small rubberbands for kids hair to keep the ribbon in tact, then put ribbon around that

I sew the center. I think it comes out better.
