Default Quick question about ribbon stacking...

I'm just curious how everyone does the ribbon stacking... Not bow stacking.. but when you layer 2 ribbons and make a bow out of the two ribbons together- stacked on top of each other... does that make sense? I have been using fabric tac to glue my ribbons together and then make a bow BUT I find that after gluing, the ribbon isn't as plyable and flexible and that really limits me. Do you girls glue the ribbon like I do? Or do you just make a bow with 2 ribbons layered without glueing? If so, how do you keep the ribbons from sliding around?
Hope this post makes sense!
Stephanie

I've never tried it but I think most people use heat n bond or stitch n witch to bond them together.

I don't glue mine together because of the issue you brought up. I was surprised at how well the ribbons actually stay together. HTH!!

Don't glue mine either. Usually the ribbons don't slip. But my loops aren't huge either. Glue makes it too stiff. I only glue when laying ribbons on top of each other for spikes or two loop toppers.

No glue here either. They do stay together really well.

i think i saw on another board (or it could have been here) that you could use some of the double sided tape.

What I do is heat seal the ends together with my wood burning tool and they stay together perfectly! I have tried all the other stuff and either the fabric tac shows through or they end up being to stiff to make a bow!!!! All you have to do is cut ends of ribbon the same and line up, take wood burner and touch ribbon ends to it and I take my fingers and press the two different ribbons together! Hope this makes sense! If not maybe I couls do some pics later!

I don't use glue either - I just heat seal the ends together and make the bow!

i haven't done many but i tried the double sided tape and because i sew my bows and i have heard that you can see it if you starch it, i don't like that method. i have been just sewing them without doing anything with good results but have been thinking about trying the woodburner thing the next time.

I don't use anything either. Occasionally I heat seal the ends together at the same time but they typically stay together regardless. I guess it just depends on the ribbon you are using and if it's a more "satin-y"/ slippery ribbon then it might make it harder for the ribbon to stay together.
