Have you checked Youtube? They have some good tuts on there. This on is for freehanding http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qI5kl6lhDxE

and this one uses a home-made template http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qI5kl6lhDxE

I am a visual person, so it helped me TONS to actually see someone make a twisted boutique bow! HTH

EDIT: Here is the link to the tut: http://howtomakehairbows.net/catalog.htm?item=2

I have to agree as well. I bought Sweet Baby Bowtique's instructions and hers are real easy to follow. She still sells them on her website and if you watch it for awhile she does sell them on sale for a decent price.

I watched this video, and used the folding method on hip girls, and then read this...

I folded it well, my problem is how do you tie it off? I found trying to pinch it myself just ruined the loops.

For those of you who hand fold, once you have it folded how do you finish it?

I use a Sally Clip and secure the center part then use my needle/thread to secure the center then wrap it around tightly and tie it off. I can crease it by hand but my fingers get sore after awhile.

My instructions are hand-folded, and I have a video online for customers who have purchased the tutorial. I agree that videos help! I prefer the hand-folding method, but it does take a bit of practice, like any new skill.

I used the HG tut and it took a few tries and this is how I prefer to fold my bows. It helps if you fold the ribbon then label the fold and then fold the ribbon to form a bow.

I use the free hand method as well. I have the NBNG templates also which rock but I am faster free hand. I pretty much followed michelle's tut on the site for the way I do mine. after a while you don't have to mark you just know.
