Default Okay, just made the cutest tutu...but...

it is stretched out almost 8.5 inches!! The only thing I can think to do is cut it and sew it again! I did use the no roll elastic. It is for an 18 month old so I cut the elastic to 18 inches and took about 1 inch to sew the ends together. I have about 4 more tutus to make today and I cannot keep resewing them! Any tips? Thanks!

For the one you have already made, you don't need to cut it You can push the tulle to the side then fold the elastic over and sew it to make it smaller. If you are making more 12-18 tutus try cutting your elastic at 16 inches instead of 18 that should help

When you are sliding your tulle, try not to stretch the elastic. Also, cutting the elastic an inch or two less than what you are wanting should help. For solid colors, I will go back over and "fill in" any areas that don't look full enough or where it's too close the the elastic showing when you stretch it. That helps a lot too. Sorry. It really is just trial and error.

Agreed with above. I cut baby ones at 14-14 1/2" and overlad the ends and sew, and I do toddlers at 17" and overlap and sew. The overlaps are about an inch. All others would be custom ordered. I did a 6 year old one at 19" then overlapped. HTH
