Question 3" Bows

According to Michelle's instructions on how to get 4 even bow loops I need to cut my ribbon 13" long to get a 2" bow. How long do I cut if I want a 3" bow? Same for 2.5" and other sizes. I think I remember seeing somebody post something about it, but I can't find it. Thanks!

I know what you are talking about- but for some reason I can't find it right now. I will keep looking, and post if I find it.

She has a math problem on how big the bow is- how thick the ribbon- how long the tails = how much ribbon to cut. BUT- I forgot where it is..LOL

I use the (bow width) * (number of loops + 2'') formula.

So for 3'' bow it would be: (3'') * (4+2'') = 18''

Can this formula be used for any width of ribbon?

Thanks

but the twisted/butterfly folds would require more inches right? 18 seems short for a 3 inch?

Yes, mine is like basic bow. Flat. I use butterfly folds but keep the angle sharp.
