I cut my strips 12" and then slip knot so they are about 6" long.

Sizing depends for me but I thought I'd throw in my $0.02 on the length.

Did you see this thread? http://hipgirlclips.com/forums/how-m...us-please.html

There are some measurements in there. I make mine a lil longer because people like room. Not for the tootie to be showin, but to have a lil flow.

Maybe you could offer an option for customers to choose their preferred length?

I've even had some take the measurements and give them to me. They like to do that because they are involved AND you always have that to go back on. I tell them to measure around where they will wear it, and from there down to where they want it to stop... then I deduct 4 or 5 from elastic, then I add about another inch or so on to length to leave room for knot and trimming

ok those are all great tips... this was for an infant that will be laying down so how can it be too short? It was about 6 in long for a 1 months old... I think I'm just done with Tutus. be looking forward to big Tulle destash! I'm finished with them

I just had a special order for an infant tutu and I also did 12" strips with a slip knot. It came out cute. My strip were 3" wide and I used two strips per know to add fullness.

Dont give up, You cant please everyone. I have had my share of unpleasable customers. I think some people just like to complain. Or maybe they complain to see what kinda discount or freebiee's they can get out of us. I think 6 inches is plenty for a baby. I even cut 12 inches for my 1 year old. I like them short but I put something under them always. You can always offer to make a new one for her as long as you get the other one back. And find out exactly how long she wants it. HTH

for a newborn to 6 months tutu I always cut my strips to 17 inches. I like mine to be a little longer.

Sorry, my little one hit send before I was done lol. Don't give up!
I will ask customers to measure as well. For the waist I do the same thing as shay I deduct about 3 to 4 inches from the waist, but I add at least 2 to 3 inches after I double my measurement for the length.
