If you are using the girlythingsbows instructions, http://www.girlythingsbows.com/loopy_bows.html
After the 6th step where you wrap the wire around (I usually use thread and a needle), at this point you will add some extra's. You cut your piece of ribbon twice the size of the loops. Fold it in half and put it in next v side down. Wrap it with the wire or use your thread and needle. You really need to go up through the middle of the ribbon or it will slip. Add at least 3 or 4 pieces side by side across the barrette, then move on to the next step with another loop of ribbon. Keep repeating these steps adding extras between each of the loops until you get to the end of the barrette. When you're done cut some of your loops so you have more spikes. Hopefully, that explains it better.

Mary, you are so sweet to take time to explain this to me. I'm going to show my hubby your post and together we'll see if we can make it work. I probably won't get a chance to try it out until this weekend, but... if the bow I make comes out somewhat decent, I'll post a pic for you

Again, (((hugs))) for being so sweet and helpful

Update:

Well Mary, I had some free time this afternoon (the little one was napping), so I tried my hand at the funky loopy bow.

The result? EPIC fail! lolol

I took my time and tried adding in the miscellaneous pieces of ribbon and korkers. But it just looks dreadful.

I think part of the problem might be (other than I obviously lack the skill for this) is that the barrette I have to use is so small. Otherwise, it would be too big for her little head. She's very tiny

I wanted to let you know how it went. If I get up enough courage I might try it again sometime.

(thanks for your encouragement though! )
