Default Bottle cap question!!! (please read if you are a experienced bottle capper lol)

What do you paint bottle caps with?
i want to paint with something thats not going to chip
I tried some kind of spray enamal paint @ hobby lobby (the kind you find in the car building section)

but its not covering my caps!

like its not giving a complete coat, its covering, but you can still see the silver cap from underneath!!
what to use!!

suggestions please!!

thanks!

dAnie

What do you mean by primer them first?
I bought some Kyron? spray paint...I have a satin one that I am learning is NOT good and then i have a semi gloss that sticks better but I am having issues with the sides of the cap getting a good coat. I have done the light spray in layers (let dry 5-10 mins in between coats). And I still don't think it is nice! I am tired of wasting my caps.

you need to make sure they are clean, I give mine a bath in rubbon alcohol and let them dry overnight....then the primer is just a spray pain called primer like this http://www.krylon.com/products/indooroutdoor_primer
....I use as my paint this

http://www.krylon.com/products/indooroutdoor_paint/

I them spray a clear laquer on them when they are dry

When I paint my caps I do a primer then the paint in a few layers. Afterat I bake them to keep the paint on & not chip. It stinks to high heaven but it seems to work well.
