Default Hydrangea hat tutorial?

Hi there! I really want to make a hydrangea petal hat, and I'm trying to figure out if the tutorial is really worth it. If it were a few dollars, I'd totally get it, but I think $12 is a little steep. Has anyone gotten this tutorial, and if so, is it worth it? I'm thinking I may be able to figure it out on my own, but I'm not sure.

I wondered about that too... Seems like you can simply hand stich the flowers on the hat.. not sure what more the tut can say to make it worth the $12... unless it's a pattern for the hat?

Cute new pic! Love the flower!

I was looking at that too, but I don't think it can honestly be that hard. From what I've read on different yahoo groups, I'm pretty sure you just get a 6 inch crochet headband, turn it into a hat, and glue on the hydrangea petals. Maybe stick the hat on a stand first or something though, so that the hat doesn't get glued to itself. Sounds more time consuming than difficult.

I think these hats are a chocking hazard if you don't sew on the petals. Am I crazy?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. I would probably stitch them on rather than glue, because I'd be worried about the glue getting scratchy. And I don't think the tutorial includes a pattern for the hat, because in the pictures you can tell that they use a waffle beanie. I really can't imagine what else could be in there for $12.

Thanks! I was getting tired of looking at the old picture.

Do you buy a whole hydrangea flower and take it apart or buy the petal already apart? Where do you find them?

Thanks!
