Default I Have Accepted my Limitations...

Hi everyone!!! A friend of a friend has an 8 yr old daughter who is going to be in a pageant on the 25th and she asked me if I could make her a bow for her gown. Her gown looks a lot like Belle's gown from Beauty and the Beast.

I have literally been trying for 6 straight days to make something and I HATE everything I've come up with - I won't even take pictures they are so bad! Anyway, I have been to too many stores to count and I am too frustrated.

I think I have to accept my limitations and throw in the towel. Without an intervention, I think I just need some suggestions from all of you lovely ladies on where I should steer her for a nice pageant bow for her daughter. Thank you!!

I think the best thing to do is to get better specifics on what she would like the bow to look like (size, colors, layers, materials used, etc). I've made quite a few pageant bows, but most of mine are simple designs that incorporated a lot of crystals. Think simple and then embellish.

Thank you, ladies!! How do you get the bling to stick? I bought some allegedly self-adhesive little crystals, but they are not sticking. Any suggestions?

I get jewelry glue. GREAT hold and a very fine applicator tip. Then I use flat tweezers to apply each stone.

Here is my piece of advice. I would go for Satin, Organza, marabou. Then use lots of bling if mommy is willing to pay I would go for hot fix swarovski crystals. Take colors from the dress. In regards the style how about triple loop pinwheel and top with a large boutique bow.

I'm going to try to put a pic of my daughter with the one she wore. It was SO simple. The dress and all accessories belong to a "friend-in-law" (sister of our hair dresser.) Our hairdresser did dd's hair and make-up and provided any and all sort of guidance; as this was our first pageant (hopefully the ONLY one. It was the school pageant.) There was a "fancier" bow, that had more white, that I preferred; but dd and hairdresser preferred this one. The hairdresser is a pageant mom and works some pageants... so I went with it. DD got 1st runner-up... as a kindergartener in her first pageant. I was SO excited... she was FURIOUS!!! I'll see if I can post a pic... I haven't ever before, so forgive me if the size is wrong! Some are views of the bow, some are for the humor of the GLARE!!! It was ALL OVER when that crown came out! lol
