If I were to sew the tulle with a ruffle foot, would that affect the "stretchability" of the onesie?

Carters has some super cute birthday onesies right now. I want to get one for DD's bday. :-) They just say Happy Birthday, no number.

That first one looks incredible difficult, she lost me at dental floss. HAHA!

Do they hold up pretty good by washing them?? I would love to try these, but scared that if I try to sell them that they won't hold up after being washed? I know you would have to air dry them, but just wondering how they would do by throwing them in the washer.

They wash just fine, I would advise to air dry but have never tried in the drier.
