Question Confused - please help!

I really like the look of a flat bow (or tuxedo) and tried to make one for my daughter. Here's a link to the type of bow I'm talking about. Etsy :: apinkposy :: Boutique Lollipop Colors Tuxedo Hair Bow

Problem is, when I put it on an aligator clip, the side that is on the pinch part of the clip, sits up higher than the other side.

I put one on a french clip and obviously didn't have this problem as they are completely flat.

I would love to know how to get these to look good on an aligator clip as my daughter is only 2 and doesn't have enough hair for a french clip to hold onto.

Can anyone help me?

Tennille

You can use a snap clip Perfect size, i think, would be the 30mm. You still line it, make the bow, glue the made-bow unto the snap clip. Kinda like how you'd do on a French clip. It's still flat.. =)

You could also turn the alligator clip upside down. With the flat side on the bow side. I remember a thread here where someone said they actually wore one like that to see if they could feel a differnce and they said they couldn't. Also-- this bow in this picture is 4" wide it says. I haven't seen one like that. Have to try it myself now!

Exactly what I was going to say...flip the clip over and attach it to the flat side...when you lay it on a table, it sticks up, but on a curved head...it lays pretty flat.

I agree, snap clip. The biggest majority of my bows are placed on snap clips. I offer snap clips, pony o's, and french clips. I do not even offer alligator clips because everyone I've spoken to says that al. clips do not stay put. My sister-in-law is the only one that ever orders bows on french clips and I've only sold one bow on a pony o. Needless to say, I keep an abundant amount of snap clips in stock (50mm and 30mm).

Yup, use a snap clip. I love the look of these bows on older girls and I have sold quite a few. I just use the french clips. I have found (if you sell them) that people really need to see the bow on a girl before they warmed up to it. I got my SIL to try one on her daughter and now she is hooked! She already has plans for lots in her daughter's uniform colors for school this coming Fall.
