Question a large stiff bow?

I can make the small bows, but when I try and make a large bow the ribbon is just limp. How do I make big bows stiff so they keep their shape for big bows?

Ok just to make sure I got it straight..LOL I spray the ribbon before I work with it and then when it is dry the bow should hold its shape? I saw some where and dont remember where or why ppl bake the bows. what is that about?

Thanks for the advice

Fold the bow, then spray. I spray ALL of my bows. I have a rowdy 5 year old and know what she does while at school, etc, and I don't want anything getting flimsy lol. I make the bow, then spray with starch, hair spray if I run out of starch. I ALWAYS use scent free because of some customers allergies, etc.

I use the scent free White Rain Extra Hold in a can at the Dollar Tree. It works great! My oven is broken (we had a fire/fire extinguisher accident due to a not to be named 3 yr. old putting his play pans in the real oven and mommy not looking before turning it on!!) so I can't bake mine!

I bake my bows...after they are made but before I attach any clips or resins...I only use starch on roses...if you bake them about about 225 to 250 for 30-35min they stay nice and firm! I don't starch before I make the bows. I have never tried hairspray!
