Are you having problems cutting the V shape?
I fold my spikes in half and then cut a triangle shape, then heat seal. I also do mine when the bow is complete that way I can cut them exactly how I want them.

Okay so what I do is this...
I have a $1 store cutting mat...I tested and found "my" perfect angle...I drew that angle on the mat with permanent marker...
When i want to cut my spikes I fold in half, lay the spike on my mat & align with one of the straight lines.
Cut along my perfect angle with rotary cutter.
Unfold, then fold again, but separate them a bit... run along the barrel of my woodburner...from tip to middle, then there isn't any little hairs....
open up quick...tada!
I've attached a picture to kinda help with what I'm talking about...

I have thougth about this, but hadn't done it yet. I freehand my spikes with my woodburner, but they aren't always even. This sounds stupid, but I hadn't thought to use the side of the woodburner instead of the tip.

Very nice tip on the burner! I've been doing it the hard way with the wedge tip...I'm fast at it now, but it was a nightmare to begin! ;o) Smart cookie, Amanda!
