Default Doggie Tutu's

I have been asked by a doggie boutique owner to make some doggie tutu's. How do you go about this? I can make regular tutu's...do you put tulle all they way around on the bottom side or leave it empty? Does the elastic bother them or do you use something else? FOE maybe? I dunno...I don't have a dog so I can't experiment. Help!

I would think that you would have to leave the bottom open so they don't pee on it. lol I don't have a dog either so I am no help

I recently sold one for $30.00 - customer chose the price, not me LOL. You have to leave the bottom area open for them to tinkle. My customer brought me one of the doggie dress so that i can see how much to leave open.

ehow.com has a tut on how to make one - I know an old friend of mine - bought one for her poodle. Then tutugirl.com has a girth chart. Hope that helps - enjoy make it - make sure to take pictures so we can see it.

I actually use 5.5 inch crochet headbands as tops and make tutu dresses for small dog. I leave the bottom open, caus enot only do they pee on it but it hits their legs and make them walk funny. I'll try to post some pics later, they are sooooo cute

I agree depending on what size you are making you typically leave about a 4" gap. IMO on the small sizes 3" tulle is the prettiest. crochet headbands make very full tutus. Share a pic when your done :-)
