Default Best barrettes/clips for super thick hair?

My eldest has enough hair for three people, and it's hard to find anything that will stay in, let alone support a bow or flower. Now that I'm turning into crafty mama, I'd like to make her something pretty. Any ideas on what to attach it to?

A french barrette for sure and if she has a lot of hair, I would get a bigger one... Probably 60 mm or so... You can go to Hobby Lobby and they have several different sizes in them and this week (ending today) all of their hair accessories are 50% off

Agreed. My daughter has thick, slick hair. I loved the idea of ally clips since they're really trendy (say for a flower that could also clip on a headband), but found the only way they didn't slide right out was if I pull it back with a rubber band and decorate with an ally clip. Make sure you use a no slip too.

Does no slip mean the kind with teeth?

My oldest also has thick hair. We usually just use french clips (60 or 70). I also will sometimes pull the front of her hair over to the side and put in a small rubberband and then put the alligator down into the band. I have to use the small thin bands for this so it does not make the clip stick out. HTH!

Nope. Those even slide out of my daughter's hair, but I've only tried the ones from HL. I mean the silicone strip people use here or I just buy the nubby shelf liner from the dollar store and cut it to fit, then glue it to the inside of the ally clip. There are a variety of ways you can make an ally no slip; just search around here and you'll see.

Thanks--I'm sure one of these ideas will work for us.
