Default "Handmade" question. Does this count?

I have two shows coming up that are "handmade only". I know I buy my kufis, so that doesn't count. But if I weave a ribbon through it, add a flower clip, and sell as a set does that count as "handmade"?

Are flower clips considered "handmade" since I glue them all together and add a clip/center? Or my wings, I add ribbons that dangle and a flower.

If you just embellish something, is it all considered handmade?

How much do you sell your kufi sets (ribbon woven throughout, bow or flower attached)? I haven't done this before bc I usually let people mix/match.

Yes I believe they do count as handmade since you are doing the ribbon and attaching a bow or flower. I charge $10 for mine, but I know some girls do a little higher.

That is what I was thinking. $10. I honestly don't think I can get more than that here anyway, but wanted to see what the "going rate" was since I usually sold kufi bands and flowers sep. I did a 2for whatever deal on those.

Anyway, thanks for replying! Oh and I never answered you I don't think? I have the darker brown leopard baby shoes.

I was rejected from one show because the beanies were not hand made. I think if the show allows other embellished items like flip flops, painted/appliqued clothing, or embroidered bags, then it would be fine. I do about 15 shows a year and all but that one allow them. I sell mine for $15.

Well, it's all in how you take the "handmade" IMO. The kufi's I buy ARE handmade, just not by me. Yes, your flowers are. There are people who buy the HH flower clippies and sell them as hand made. They are, by someone else. But you are going an extra step to take them apart and put them back together. Wings are a yes in my book.

I think that embellishing them totally qualifies.

There are some shows that will have it in their paperwork about there being a certain % of your work or booth that must be handmade/altered. If it doesn't state exactly, then I say you are good to go. Also, if it doesn't say "handmade by you" then I'd take that as you can sell anything that is handmade.

Kufi's are pretty popular for me. I have 2 sizes and sell the infants for $8 and the child/adult for $10. I don't add anything to them as I have my booth set up so they can mix and match however they choose. Works really nice!

Really, in all the shows I've done (I do them just about every weekend), I've not had my booth inspected once.

wonder if the black flower would work? Or mabye a brown? I'll have to see if I can get a darker color to match with... Hopefully I'll have the buttons mid week next week. I have them ready but need my tiny baby buttons!
I don't think I could do more then $10 either. BUT $10 seems to be a good price here in OKlahoma, I sell tons of them when I go to shows, which isn't much!

Just whatever fabric you have I don't want you to have to get more since it's only for one pair of baby shoes. No worries! Maybe black flower with rhinestone center? That is pretty basic and will def match. I can't wait for our buttons to get here! I just can't remember if I got 20 or 24. I need to go look.
