Mine do that sometimes too. They are better since I got templates though but still do every now and then

that dosn't look like a Twisted bow... I cut and heat seal my ribbon and then spray it flat with starch let it dry then shape it sew it and then I starch it and bake it ....

Your middle one was the one I was trying to do. Here is mine. The left side is not laying flat. Too big for that ribbon? Or is it all in the baking?

That's what I use too. The pinwheels turn out great, I think.

I can't get my pinwheels to look good with these templates yet. I just got the hang of the twisted but kept having this issue of flopping up. I made some last night and was using bigger templates with some of the ribbons and they were looking pretty good. Now I have to starch and bake, hoping to do that this afternoon. I usually make my pinwheels by hand. Gotta get used to the templates still. I'll post some when I'm done with them.

I think it's all about the stitching w the pinwheels. I have to follow her stitches exactly, but then they come out perfect. Good luck!

I use the NBNG for my twisted bows. What size ribbon are you using I know that if it's to big or too small that you will do that.

I'm following her chart and sizing. Maybe it's just practice? I made some using 5/8 & 7/8 yesterday and they looked better. I even got one 3/8 that looked good.
