Default Frayed Rolled Rosette tutorials

Just wondering what your favorite tutorial is on these? I've seen several different ones- all using a little bit dif't techniques. I'm trying to make some and am having a heck of a time getting them to look right. Does it just take a lot of practice- or does it make a big difference in the fabric you use? Or do you have a favorite tutorial (free or for sale) that makes them easy? Thanks in advance for any tips or suggestions!

I think it depends on what type of finished product you are looking for. I use one from sis boom. Mine come out perfect every time with it. (I can't find it online now, but if you pm me your email address I can email it to you.)

I added a pic so you can see what they look like.

I don't know if I'm allowed to post example pics from etsy (so, if not- I'll remove immediately).. But, this is what I'm trying to do and it's just not working out! I don't know if I should be using a thicker fabric? But, mines not full at all.

if its not thick enough u are probably not using a long enough piece of fabric or folding it enoough to get it thicker. ifyour using a light weight cotton, cut the fabric wide enough and fold it in 3rds before you start winding the flower. thickerfabric is easier to work w/ i think. this flower is all about practice. the more you do, the better you will get.

When attaching your flower to your FOE headband, do you glue the flower directly onto the headband? Also, do you put a piece of felt on the back of the headband like most people do with other headbands?
