Default Silicone clear no slip grip

Hello

I am new and so glad to have found this community! I have been blessed with twin girls (already have 3 boys and we were done but surprise! LOL) - so now I am obsessed with girly stuff - including hair accessories!

I bought some alligator clips and have a ton of ribbon from hoarding and have been reading about no slip. I bought Wendy's tutorial which is amazing - BUT - I realize (doh!) I don't really have a lot of time to make the clippies so I'm going for the easy route.

Are these silicone gel strips on sale anywhere? Does anyone know where I can get them since I'm too busy to make them and cure them?

Also if I use double sided tape to line the clips, will they hold stronger/ better or just the same as if I were to hot glue them?

Thanks so much!!

Welcome! and Congratulations!

I've never used the tape for my clips so I'm no help there.
But I do use the no slip silicone grip. I'm not sure if anyone sells them already made. What I do (and seems to work ok) is cut the length of ribbon needed for lining clips, heat seal ends, and then add my silicone to an end of the cut/sealed ribbon. I lay them all out on an old cookie sheet (out of the way of little hands) and they are ready for whenever i want to line some clips. Just have to watch how you lay the ribbons for lining the clips. Did a few backwards cause I wasn't paying attention. The silicone part was glued to the clip.

Don't know if this will help you much! lol

Thanks that helps!

I have this window silicone sealant I use for marble magnets. But they stink. And how would I get the silicone to be flat instead of bumpy like dried up hot glue. Would I just use a butter knife to smooth it?

Thanks again!!

I just use the side of the silicone squirt nozzle thing to smooth it out.
