Default Tutu Bow Holder -- What kind of board?

I know there must be tons of questions on this forum regarding tutu bow holders... But my question is not about how to attach the tulle. It is actually about the foam board for the bodice.

Which kind of foam board is the best?

I went to Michael's yesterday and found two kinds. One is a styrafoam board that is about 1 inch thick. Another kind is a 1/4 inch thick foam board with a smooth surface that kids use for presentations in school. Which kind is the best?

TIA!

I've been using the 1/4" kind, I've put it through a lot of abuse too and it holds up extremely well. HTH

Well, I actually found that they have foam board at Dollar Tree. I believe they are 1/4 wide and are 20x30 in length. My husband cuts the board in half and then we glue to 2 pieces together... BEST OF ALL, The board was only a BUCK!

Ahh.. thanks! Do you wrap padding around it before you line it with fabric? How do you attach it? Just hot glue?

Sorry... more questions.

Cool! Is that the kind that has a smooth surface? Like presentation boards the kids use in school?

Yeah, its smooth! I just have my husband cut it in half, then I hot glue them together.. and wrap it in fabric. I was going to put padding down, but I think they work perfectly just wrapped in fabric!

I also use the 1/4" cut with an exacto knife, cover with batting, then fabric. HTH
