Default What to use wood burner on?

Ok this probably has a very obvious answer but just wondering what you rest your ribbon on when using your wood burner?

I do have one around somewhere but have no idea since moving house so looking at buying a new one.

I use a glass cutting board with a paper ruler attached to the underneath to help measure. Helps when I cut ribbon for korkers and for lining clips, measure and cut in one swoop!

I also use a small cookie sheet (got at the dollar store) so it doesn't take up too much of my work space. I also tape my wood burner stand to my work table with blue painters tape so it doesn't roll off on the carpet (again! ).

I use a crafters cutting mat and a picture frame glass on top pf it that way i use the measurements on the mat to measure everything and cut at the same time
I culdn`t live without my woodburner...he and my glue gun are my BFF LOL

i use an 8x10 glass from a picture frame that i have taped the edges. i have a metal yardstick laying on top that i can cut right on, and a tiny 6 inch metal ruler that i use to make smaller cuts, or to help me make straight cuts.

I use a huge square glass microwave plate with a metal ruler attached to it. It's heavy so it doesn't move around at all when I'm cutting.

I do my woodburning at the kitchen table after the kids are in bed. Since I'm a MAJOR klutz-o, I tape the cord to the table so the weight doesn't pull on the woodburner, and put my woodburner tip down in an old coffee mug. I have not burned myself yet! (fingertips don't count!) However before I taped the cord to the table, the weight of the cord made the woodburner slip off the table and take a chunk out of my slipper. Thank goodness I wasn't barefoot!

Awesome replies people, thank you! I was actually thinking of a cookie sheet but I think the glass idea might be the way to go. Like the idea of the frame glass over a cutting mat, very clever!

Now to look n see if I can find my old woodburner. Might have to go buy a new one
