Default Pricing help

Not sure if this goes here or not, but was wondering if there is a formula or something I can use to help determine prices for some of my bows. Wanting to change some things around. Thanks in advance.

I think most of us use Etsy as a guideline for pricing.

Etsy is a "good" way, but I think many folks on Etsy price somewhere between retail and wholesale...so if you really want "retail" you should be priced higher than Etsy.

Take your wholesale cost and double it - then add what you "charge" for your time per item. That should be retail.

Are you a member of the NoBowNoGo Yahoo group? If so, there is a hair pricing excel file.

me too! When someone asks for a custom bow I feel bad for not having a price ready to give at that moment before I actually make the bow. I usually just guess then I end up not charging enough because I myself am not sure of prices that I would be paying for just supplies.

I have this problem too. My mom has been doing craft shows succesfully for a good 20years and she always tells me take your cost and tripple it. If that seems too much you can go cheaper but never under any circumstance go less than twice what the product cost you to make! HTH
