Default Lined clip ribbon/bow length question

Hello.

I am making lined alli clips with those flat bows on top. However, I'm really struggling with getting the JUST right length of ribbon to make into a nice, neat and well-placed fold. One set of directions said 4", but I find that it looks too long on the ends of the clips. So I tried 3", but then the bow fold looked very small. What's your favorite length of ribbon to use on top?

(does this all make sense??)

I do 4.5" to line the clip, 3.5" for the tuxedo bow and 1" for the middle! Hope that helps!

Thanks! Maybe that's the magic number, eh? I will try that today...

I use the same lengths as well and works really well. Sometimes I do a 4 inch tuxedo to make a larger bow, but usually do the 3.5 inch! It is very time consuming trying to figure all the lengths and stuff out. Hope this helps and they work out perfectly for ya!

thank you thank you!! i find that 4" is a little too long for me to get a good handle on. i'll try 3.5. i'm having trouble centering the bow and make the loops even. making me CRAZY
