Unhappy glued

I'm new to bow making and have found a new found love.I have two small glugrandchildren who love to have all kinds of hair pretties as they call them.I was trying to make a bow for one of the girls this evening and I was using a 7/8" grograin and put a 1/4" of another color on top for contrast. I used a fabric glue called Fabri-Tac. This workes very nice as long as the glue dosn't get too thick. Is there any other method that I could have used or another type of glue?

I don't use fabrictac a lot because it doesn't hold well for me over time. Hot Glue works best for me especially when attaching the bow to the clip and the knot to the center of the bow. My daughter has bows I made for her 3 years ago and are still holding up to a lot of abuse. hope that helps!

If I'm doing a bow on top I sew it on.
