Default Braided headband Questions..

First off, I just bought these instructions, and they are SOOOO easy, and look super cool!

Just one thing though, I am using a 1" headband, is this not right, should I up the size to 5/8 for the ribbon braiding, b/c the first one I made I pulled really tight, and the plastic (aat the thickest part) showed ALOT on both sides and was too short ( I did 62" like instructions said)
So, I made another one, and left it really loose and used 70" not too much leftover, but the plastic still showed a little on both sides.....

HELP. what am I doing wrong?? I wanted to have some of these at my craft show next weekend, and I just bought a bunch of 1" bands.....

TIA!! for the help!
Nicole

I had the same problem, try using a half inch head bead and see if that does better for you.

I ordered 20 of the 1" headbands and when I did the first braided one it was way too thick and the headband showed.
So I ordered the 1/2" headbands and it worked so much better and didn't look all thick.

Guess i'll use the 1" for the woven headbands IF I can ever figure them out

I made one using 3/8" ribbon and 1" plastic headband. You can see the image here:

I wrapped the headband so I don't think it matters that the headband shows.

I hear what you are saying pink lady I gave the woven headbands a 3rd try yesterday, and I am still trying to get the patterns down. I did try the ones that had a 2 colors pattern in red and white and those instructions were easier to follow for me.
I have never used 4 ribbons, not sure how to do that.

The last one I made was pink, black and white.
Thanks! I really did put alot of effort and time into my instructions so that they would be easy to understand.....

Thanks so much ladies for all your helpful insight!! I really appreciate it!
So, next thing is where to find 1/2" plastic headbands locally? I won't have time to order any before my show this weekend.

Also, what should I be lining those with still the 5/8??

Thanks again,
Nicole
