I do the custom rhinestone stuff and her prices are CRAZY high! I would guess that she isn't using swarovski either, they don't shine like swarovskis do. It is a pain in the rear to hand set each stone and it does take a lot of time, but $50 for a wal-mart shirt with some stones on it is way too much. I wonder how much she really sells? Cute stuff though!

LOL very true! I have a cousin who lives in the Dallas area who buys from me because she said she can't find normal size bows, she said if she tried to put on the bows she finds in Dallas on her little one's head, it would look like a 20 gallon hat! LOL

I'm sure she is exaggerating, but some people don't like the really large bow style.

she has some really cute stuff, I liked the one that had "daddy did my hair", those are cute and I would love to make some, just don't have time!!

Could she be using a machine? I would love to try my hand at these but always thought it was a special machine.
As for the prices, more power to her LOL There is a price point for everyone and I am sure people will pay her prices.

In the Dallas/Fort Worth area, they pay a lot! My cousin said she goes to a few kids boutiques to look and she said basic solid boutique bows sell for $10 and the over the top bows are anywhere from $20 and up!
She does buy the blingy shirts for her little one and admits to paying upwards of $30-$40 for T-shirts but won't buy bows. I'll have to ask her how they hold up to washing.

I've purchased a couple of sweatshirts and Ts through work with the rhinestones and the rhinestones seem to fall off after a few washings even though I hand wash them and hang to dry. I do have one that has stood up to the washings and hasn't lost a stone but it was from a different vendor. I think it is all in the quality of the stone and how they are applied. I am sure there are machines out there that can be used to do it on a larger scale.

WOW! her stacked bows are amazing! they are truly boutique, they look very high end. I think her prices are reasonable, because her items don't LOOK cheap at all! her bows look like they took a very long time to make and her bedazzling technique looks complicated and very detailed and intricate. IMHO if you are going to pay for a "boutique" item it needs to look high end and very well made and she can mark up her prices because her stuff does look THAT good. Kudos to her.

What I have found is that if you press the design from the front and then flip it inside out and press it from the inside too, it seems to set the stones better. It does have a lot to do with the stones themselves. I could tell a huge difference when I switched suppliers.

Ooh, thanks for the tip. I've done shirts for my little one for school and with school starting back up, need to get some new ones made. I'll have to remember the inside out thing as the stones fell off a some of her shirts I did last year.

I may cheat and order from the place I found online that has the ready made designs, I'd hate to buy a bunch of stones from somewhere and have them be crap and not last.
