Do you make your own flowers or buy them and embellish them? I am interested in making some singed and other ones but can't find tuts anywhere even checked etsy

i get my daisies and ranunculus and many others on here
i get hydrangeas from Michaels b/c i have yet to find a great online source for the quality of Michaels.

there is a singed flower tut somewhere, but they are actually very easy. here is the gist

1. use polyester fabrics
2. cut different sized circles
3. light a candle
4. light run the edges of the fabric over the top of the flame
5. after they have cooled, assemble the flowers in whatever layers you like
6. sew a few stitches to hold layers together
7 add your center (beads and brads work well)
8 add a small piece of felt backing to hide thread and to create a solid base for your clip
9 add clip

it is really just trial and error. you really can't do them incorrectly at all!

I buy my daisies and other flowers at Michaels or Hobby Lobby - I wait until they are on sale or I have a coupon. I usually get the bunches of flowers for $5 or less -then I tear them down and rebuild them - add a rhinestone, button or center back to the middle and add a clip. I sell them for $5 a piece so I get my money back and then some.

If you prefer video instruction this video is from one of Threadbanger's new hosts. She shows how to make several different fabric flowers including a scorched gathered flower.
