Default Yesss I admiiiiit, I have a korking problem

(that is a take off of a country song that goes "Yes I admit, I have a drinking problem". Love that song, can't recall who sings is.)

I have done between 50-70 dowels of korkers a day this week!

So my question is, how many do you usually do in a day?

How long are the dowels you put in your oven (I break mine in half when I buy them, because of course, they won't fit)?

My dowels are 35cm long...or maybe they are only 30, I can't remember. I usually only do about 15 at a time as thats the amount that I have LOL I've bought some more dowel to cut up to make some more but haven't done it.

You do have a korker problem. LOL I never counted how many I was doing. I would just put as many fit in my oven. I haven't done korkers in about a year. I have been too stuck on my sewing.

I use 100 CM on each dowel rod. I use 4-6 depending on color combo to make a set. That is for my large korker bow. But yes that is a ton of ribbon!!! I wish I had more time to make bows. But bow making is a third job.

You are able to put 39 inch (100 cm) dowels in your oven?? LUCKY you! I think I can only fit like 18-21 inch ones. I need to measure them again. I want them to be as long as possible.

I've been making a lot of korkers this week. I have a couple orders (yippie). My girls like to play w my dowels so I only have 8 12" ones right now(sad). But it works. I can cut and seal some while others bake. By the time they cool I'm ready to cut and seal more. I really need more dowels

I need a better sealing technique. The lighter way is annoying after a hunderd plus korked pieces!

I thought I was on to something cool today when I was at the store.

I found square dowels, so I bought about 5 of them, and tried making korkers with them. Nothing real special came of it. You can kinda tell they are square, but it wasn't as great as I hoped.

Angelbabyz, I am right there with you. I have been korking ribbon for the past four days. It has been fun matching up different colors. So now I have to actually attempt to make the bows! I made one this morning and it did not turn out well. I think the problem was that they werent cut exactly the same length and the two colors I chose were different brands. One was Schiff and it was really stiff, the other I got from RH and it is polka dot. THe polka dot just doesnt seem to be working with the thicker ribbon. I will try this again tomorrow! (But your korker questions you are asking each day are helping me tremendously! THanks!

Keri from Lil' Bow Peep - I LOVE your korkers in your Etsy store. THey are perfectly shaped and fluffy. You are my inspiration for korkers! Maybe one day you could write a tutorial. I would definitely be one of your first customers.

I think she means the ribbon is 100 cm, not the dowel
