Default Can you cleanly remove glue?

Not exactly "how to make", I'm wondering if anyone knows how to remove glue (like hot glue) from fabric/ribbon/etc.

I bought bra strap headbands awhile back in a GB & a lot of them have flowers or things all around the headband. Some of them I can peel off completely without a mark but most of them leave a glue mark on the headband.

Does anyone know of a way to remove it?

I guess it kind of depends. I have had luck running my lighter over hot glue and being able to get it off. You just have to be really careful. Interested to see how other people remove glue.

Sorry I'm no help, but I'm interested to know the answer to that question. Have you tried the iron & the paper towel trick? I know it works for candle wax on carpet.

I actually tried the lighter on the one of them, but because of the material it really didn't look much better, they were just shiny marks.

I have not tried that, but I definitely will! Thanks for the idea, I have plenty of headbands, so I'm not too worried about damaging a few for the good of the bunch.

Let us know if it works. That's good info to have.

Take a piece of fleece (or felt might work) and put it over the spot. Then run a hot iron over the fleece and it will melt the glue into the fleece.

Stick it......in the freezer for several hours, remove, and the glue should just pop off. I've had great success with this!

I'd like to know how to get glue off the back of rhinestones!! I bought a bunch of flowers that were already glued and I want to take them apart to take the green stem off of it, but can't get the glue off clean to use it again. Hmmmm....

Pure acetone is good at removing glue (even a little fingernail polish w/acetone). You could give it a try. I know it works like a charm on fabric glue!

I thought some of the lovely ladies around here would have a solution for me. I'm going to try them all tomorrow to see what works best. Thank you all!
