Default Is there a way to make my headbands non slip?

I've just started making and adding headbands to my etsy store and I love them, but I've noticed on my daughters that they keep slipping , is there something I could add to make them non slip. I've read that some people use silicone, does it really work? If so, what type of silicone would I need and how do I apply it to the headband? On my daughters headbands I added a thin strip of the no slip grip that I add to the clippies and it helped, but I don't like the look of it. i would rather have something clear. I'd love to hear what others do to keep there headbands from slipping. Thank you

That's the same no slip grip that I used for my daughters headband, but I didn't really like the look of it. I'd rather have something clear on the inside of the headband, just think it looks a little neater. Anyone have some suggestions?

I's not clear but on some factory made headbands I've noticed they use velvet ribbon to line the inside. It would look professional if you were able to color coordinate.

I would love to know a good solution to this as well!! I know some people use silicone, but honestly....I wonder about CPSIA rules and just the safety of having a chemical compound exposed to a child's scalp. I can GUARANTEE you that if I build up a large amount of stock with silicone on them, come February, we will find out that is a CPSIA no-no!!

I have tried velcro, but my daughter HATES it, so I have not pursued it. I have put chinese braid (gimp) on a few. It looks really good, and does seem to stop the slipping a bit. But, I need to get some money and place an order with hairparts for a bunch wholesale.

If anyone has any other ideas....I'd love to hear them!!

I'm in the same boat. I tried velvet ribbon and had mixed results.

You're right! Silicone might not be the best solution...but there has to be something else. I've never tried gimp but I have some headbands of my own that I've bought in stores ( long before I started making my own, lol) and it does help stay in my hair, so that might be something I'll try. Thank you

I was going to recommend the same thing you use on the alligator clips but since you say you don't like the look of it.....I'm not sure what else would work....good luck!

Has anyone tried that clear rubber elastic that is commonly used to support seams in sewing? I am considering trying this. Any thoughts?
