Default Tutu dress HELP!!!

So I made a tutu dress. First time using the crochet headband thinky... My knots look like poo... What am I doing wrong? HOW am I suppose to make it thicker? Just do another layer of tulle?

I use three rows of tulle.....they sort of compress with the crochet but it keeps it really really full!

How long should I make the strap that goes around the neck? Mine is to short I think.

I usually do between 40 to 44 inches...it seems to give enough length to tie into a nice bow.

Thanks again girls.. AND CRAPPPPP. I just realized i went to HL at lunch and didn't get the dang pink. At least I can use another 40% off coupon I guess. DARN!
