Questions about korkers
I love the korkers - I think they are so cute, and they are popular. HOWEVER, I cannot for the life of me get these stupid things to look the way everyone else's do - you, know, nice (and full!) I need specific help, I think. So, here are my questions:
1) How many sections of ribbon do you use per korker? For 1/8, 1/4, 3/8?
2) How long do you cut the pieces?
3) I made a korker box, but it still doesn't help hold them still when I go tie it off - how do you get the ribbon tied around the middle without all the pieces spilling out all over the place?
*Sigh* I can make all the bugs and 3D bows without problems, but these I have problems with...I'm weird. So, can you help??
I sew them in the center together, just like the tutorial on the ribbonretreat.com site.
I use 3/8" and depending how large I want the korker bow to be I use the length and the quantity of korkers, I prefer the 2" long korkers the best, the shorter the better in my openion.
If yes, I think there is a way to secure those pieces. Please see figure below. Put something heavy (maybe 2 pieces of wood blocks) on top of the korkers. These will hold the korkers in place.
By the way, I don't think it has to be a wood korker box, The paper box will do the job too.
No my "box" isn't as nice as that - it's one of those ones (I saw it posted somewhere) where you just put together the metal angles used for shelving to make a "box" with and open top and open on 2 sides. I didn't thing to just put something on top of them, lol, I'm sure that would work! Thanks for the tips!
