I am in Texas so the heat is unreal! I did not let it "cure" a few mins before putting it on nor did I put glue on the ribbon. I will try these ideas on dd's to repair them and see how that goes. Thanks ladies!!

I wonder if you somehow scratch or roughen the flip flop strap with sandpaper a little an then apply glue. Maybe it would give it more to grab on to? Just a thought.

Someone on another thread mentioned roughing up the straps. I would also say to let it cure for more than 24 hrs, especially in texas! This seems to be an ongoing problem because there are several threads about it on here. Cathie from The buckle boutique has some glue sticks for sale on her website. She says she sells thousands of flip flops and has never had any issues. Here is the link. Cathie is super sweet, send her an email if you have any questions.

I use hot glue on mine and gorilla glue. I also would take a heavy needle and plyers and sew your bow in place to ensure that it's secure.

I actually found flip flop glue (that's what its called) at hobby lobby and I made 3 pairs with it, let it dry over night and they are holding up perfect.

here's the link for anyone that wants to check it out, it seems to work great, I think the main reason is because it stay flexible so it sort of stretches with the flip flop straps

Well I have heard about using E6000 for using beads and other stuffs for the flip flops and this is definitely worth to use as, this is used for many purposes but, it is good for the purpose of making your flip flops looks more beautiful.

Thanks

I'm in Texas too, in San Antonio where it gets in the 100's in the summer. E6000 will hold you just have to let it work right. You HAVE to let it cure, no longer than 2 min and then attach the pieces together.

Also curing and setting are 2 different things. Several ppl have been using cure when they mean setting. to let E6000 cure put it on both items to be glued together, in my case, the end of my ribbon I was wrapping with and the flip flop thong. I let it cure for 2 min, you want it to get a little sticky, then after you have assembled your flip flops you let them set for a minimum of 24 hours, I use alligator clips and clip everything after I've glued it. After 24 hours I take off the alligator clips and then they are wearable.

HTH.
