Default A little help?

I'm about to rip my hair out trying to figure out how to make my bow look like this: http://www.etsy.com/listing/43289367...lyn-collection

I haven't purchased templates yet so I have been using the figure 8 method, but mine always come out looking something like this

Is there a different technique or am I doing something wrong? I love how loopy and perky it is compared to mine..

I bought the BBM and it helped a lot, now I can do them by hand.

Here's my two cents-take it for what it's worth, I'm no expert...
I would try aa longer length. If you are using the figure 8 to fold experiment with your angles-a flatter "x" if that makes sense. Also, to get a good crease-I always sew my bows. I NEVER could use the figure 8 to look *right* for me-I have to mark and fold
Good luck-practice, practice, practice! My first ones looked similar to yours, you can look in my shop to see what mine look like now.
