Default Super skinny elastic and singed flowers?

Do you guys cut your lengths the same as the FOE for these?
And when you attach something like a singed flower, or other small applique, do you just glue it on?
I am just concerned about how secure it would be with it being such a small area to attach them to. Maybe add a piece of coordinating felt behind it for stability?

Thanks!

I would use a felt circle on the back.

I am still trying to figure out how to get the ends of the elastic together though. I have tried sewing and glueing and am not happy with the results of either.

Are they melting them and sticking them together so they cool and are fused? I know when I use the already made headbands I just glue the flowers on

That is what I wonder as well. I was thinking maybe putting them slightly overlapping and then taking a wood burner over them to singe them together. Not sure how clean a mark it would leave though

I am going to make some tomorrow for my 7yo dd. I can't get it to stay well when I try to just melt them together, so I am going to do as the other poster said and put a piece of felt behind. Will try to post pics when I get some made

I buy the premade elastic headbands, so I'm no help when it comes to attaching those. But I do use a piece of felt on the back of the singed flower in a small circle, glue that to the elastic, and then back that with another piece of felt. The felt is cut smaller than the flower so you can't see it from the front.

Felt on the back, I do these with the zipper flowers on the metal headbands too to give them some stability. Can't help you on putting together the skinny elastic though.

I think it must be a closely guarded secret or it's so obvious no one feels the need to help, LOL..either way I'm playing with it tonight to see what I can do. If I figure it out I'll let you know!
