Default To line or not to line?

I am still fairly new to all of this and haven't sold anything and probably won't anytime soon, I'm still getting the hang of it, but I have a question, which has probably been discussed before, but, hey I'm new

I live in a small area and we don't have any stores that sell flowers or bows or anything, so I have never seen anyone else's work up close, well today we ventured out into the big 'ole city and were in a shop that sold them, so I wanted to get a close up look to kind of make sure I was doing an ok job KWIM?

Anyway, I noticed that most of the clips (the bows and flowers were on) weren't lined, they were just all metally(is that a word?) and sticking out, I always line mine, cause I thought that's how they were supposed to be?

So, here's the question: do you line your clips or not? why or why not? does it make a difference?

I'm just curious and trying to wrap my head around all this, so any insight would be great!

I line my clips only because to me it looks finished. It doesnt take that much time or that much ribbon so why not!

I line all of mine. I think it looks more finished and professional. Just my opinion :-)

I def line. Most of the stuff coming from China is not lined or if someone is selling to boutiques at a dirt cheap price. Lining sets you apart. I always use that as a way to justify higher pricing.

I agree, I think it looks alot nicer and more finished, also, speaking of things from China, I was reminded of something else I wanted to ask, the flowers they had were very stiff and paper like, they reminded me of the ones I use for scrapbooking, and the ones I use are soft and silky (just from the craft store) dose it make a difference which ones I use, or is it just another matter of preferance?

I always line....most customers don't know better so they wouldn't mind if it wasn't lined but I know better! It makes me twitch like crazy to see a clip that is not lined. They just look nicer when you line

Always line my clips-- alligator and French! I think it looks better and it is just a little added customer service.
