Default Tutu dress bow holder ?

For those of you who have made these - a quick ? Do you use paint, fabric or scrabook paper for the bodice. I can see using all three but I need opinions on the + and -'s of each.

For the paper - I would be afraid it would rip - can it be sealed w/ mod podge?

I'm using a foam board not wood for the bodice. I'm outling the side edges with ribbon so the foam doesn't show.

I have the paint, the fabric and the paper but no clue what I should use!

Thanks for your help!

I covered my foam core board with fabric. It was just inexpensive cotton fabric. I can see using paper with modge podge as long as you covered the outline somehow. The fabric was pretty easy, just folded back over the edges and glued. You have to make little slits as you go along to make the fabric fit smoothly. Here is a link to free instructions. Hope it helps!

Oh thanks for the directions - my guessing was not too far off on the dimensions. I think I will go with my first instinct on using fabric; I think I would get too frustrated with the paint and the paper thing - I dunno I think the fbric would be nicer overall - should be done tonight/tomorrow and will post pics!

I sew mine like a pillow and stuff with 1" poly foam. I'll have to post a pic when I'm finished. It helps make the finished product look pretty from any angle (front, back, side, etc.) As far as I know, I'm the only one who does it that way. Maybe I should print some instructions?

I'll be happy to post pics and instructions as soon as I order some more ribbon from UB to complete my current work in progress! I'm thinking it will be at least a week or so. I'm glad you both think it's a neat idea!

For those of you who have made this, does the ribbon that hangs the dress fromt he wall hold it on there? I am afraid the ribbon wouldn't handle the weight.

I use chenille or minky fabric. You can see the only one I have a picture of right now. I made some and took them to a local boutique without taking pictures first...
