I just finished my first tutu dress bow holder and am quite pleased. I did use those awful free instructions. I don't know about you guys, but those instr. were quite vague. I had a difficult time attaching my tulle to the bottom of the bodice. After several tries I finally got it. How did you guys attach your tulle? Any advice would be better than those awful instructions.

ldelzer (member here) makes hers this way also....very cute...only thing with this way is it doesn't sit nice and flat against the wall (not criticism...JMO) so please take it that way

They're vague...but free....If you need more details you may have to buy some nicer ones Sometimes the free ones just get you pointed in the right direction.

Ok, so I want to try this. I would more than be willing to purchase a wooden bodice that is lightweight enough, or use the foam board but how in the heck are people getting a finished look on the back?!

I want to add a little fiberfill to the front, but I want the back to lay flat on the wall. If I gather the tulle, what is to keep it from looking all bulky if I want to like the top of it with a ribbon?!!

I'm so [email protected]?

I'm more than willing to purchase good directions too, but haven't found any. I just want a couple of good ideas here.

I have made several of these. For most of them I cut my tulle into strips, then I gathered about three to five strips together and stitched them together to get the "bunched" look. Then covered the thread and tied off part with some kind of bow, or embellishment. On another one I just lined the bottom of the bodice with hot glue and glued on my strips of tulle. LOL! You can't really tell in this picture but this is a closed up of the embellishments I used to "hide" my tulle attaching. LOL! For the backs of my I use felt. I do the front then I spray the back with spray adhesive and then I lay a sheet of felt over it and cut around the bodice. Then I hot glue fancy trim in a matching or coordinating color to the sides to help hide any uneven parts. I am getting ready to go to the store but when I get back I will try and get pictures of everything I'm talking about and hopefully it will help someone. Oh, and just for a pathetic attmept to get compliments I'm going to add pictures of some of my finished ones in case you missed the first time I showed them! LOL!
