I tried looking throught the tool thingy but it is not clear enough for me to line up my image ...I always thought they should make out of a clear material instead of that white-ish stuff.

once you make your circle template it should be easier although the acrilic one that Allison says must me much better.I always want to buy it but then end buying something else that I need too LOL

Interesting... I was wondering about spray adhesive, but assumed I couldn't work fast enough before it cured. Do you have a secret? Shhh... you can tell me...

And... do the edges of double-sided tape show through the fabric?

I use acrylic cover button templates that I bought from http://www.thesewphisticatedstitcher.com/cobute.html. I can't say enough about how much time and frustration it has saved me when doing monogrammed cover buttons. After I get my monogrammed circle of fabric or ribbon cut out, I turn it over and use the inner circle of the acrylic template and trace a circle around the design to where the design is centered. Then, I cut out the excess stabilizer from around the inner circle and now you have exactly where your button goes. You can do this if you don't have a template, too. The instructions here: http://girlythingsbows.com/monogrammed_button_covers.html use the button the make the inner cirlce, but it's all the same idea, except you're using the button as a guide instead of the acrylic template: I put a small piece of double sided tape to keep everything centered while I attach the button. The Girly Things Bows tutorial is a great tutorial. I hope all of my jibberish makes a little sense.

I place two strips side by side on the button each end of tape touching the end of the button and then place the fabric where I want it. It doesn't show through the fabric. HTH,

That just means it must really be good advice.

mommygolightly, thanks for the tip! Also, I usually use Polarfleece to line my buttons, but picked up some Warm n Natural poly to try on the advice of members. Wait... was it the cotton kind that was recommended? Oops...

Thanks sooooooooooooooooooooooo much, girls!!!! I did order an acrylic template for actually cutting out the fabric, but I haven't used it yet. My tool is made of the whitish stuff, too, and I can't see through it. I will definitely use an adhesive! Feeling *really* silly that I didn't even think of it!
