Hi, I think you'll need 7/8" and 3/8" ribbon. I don't see the base bow in your photo, so not sure what size is the ribbon for the base bow. I like to make base bow with 1 1/2" but 7/8" is good, too. It's just a matter of personal taste.
For the bows in the photo, I think I'd make a top bow- butterfly fold or twisted boutique bow whatever you call it- with 7/8" which is lined with 3/8" in the middle to give it 2 tones look. Use fabric glue. Underneath is a 4 loops 3/8". and then spikes with 3/8" and 7/8".
To fix the layers together, I'd use hot glue, then I sew them together to secure. flower wire is an alternative.
HOpe this helps and have fun!
Lynn

thank you also for the instructions! Is there any photos of the bottom of the bow so I can see how they glued the pointed pieces on? Thank you! Amy

Most of the time you make each layer individually and then use elastic string or sew the layers together.

I used to apply a tiny drop of hot glue in the very middle of each layer to fix them together, then I use thread to tie them up or sew them together to make them securely stay together and in shape.
