Default How do I attach the bow to a flip flop?

I have a lady bringing me a pair of flip flops tonight to decorate them for her daughter, I have some flip-flop instructions but they aren't very clear how to attach the bow to the center. Can someone help me out here? PLEASE!!

I just use hot glue or I even attach snap buttons to make them interchangeable.

I'm interested in this. How do you attach snap buttons to the bow? Interchangeable is a great idea! I've put pinbacks on a bow before so that you can take it off of clothing for washing.

Well for flip flops pretty much all I do is, I have to punch a small hole in the strap to where I want the snap to go. Then attach. Then for the bow all I do is use a plastic strip for the back of the bow and then I glue the male part of the snap to the back. The next time that I make them I will take some pics and post it.

Hi, I am bumping this up. It's that time of the year for most of the world, here in Texas you may see us in flip flops year round. I'm sure there are more people who would like to make these. And, I "know" there are some real talent in this group who have made bow flops before.

Mindy - I was wondering where you got your flip flop ribbon instructions? I live in flip flops and actually got a catalog from J. Crew the other & thought about spend $34.50 for a pair. But WOW, I would love to make a pair.
Thanks!!

Mindy,
I just re-read my previous message about if you would share the flip flop instructions & let me apologize. I assumed that they were free. If they were not free, could you tell me the place that you purchased them? Sorry for assuming.

I didn't realize how basic these were until I looked back. I figured out a way to attach the bow better. There is another post on flip-flops. Go to search and type in flip-flop and all the threads and post will come up. But here is what I have, they are from hobby lobby.

Ribbon Embellished Flip Flops

Materials:

E6000 glue
Clothes pins
Ribbon of choice
Bow for center
Ric-rack

Wrap the “thong” part of your flip flops with ribbon, being sure to overlap the ends securely, and use the E6000 glue to secure as you go. Use the clothes pins so that it holds, as E6000 does not bond instantly. Hot glue will work but may not hold as well as the E6000 as they shoes get worn.
Then add your favorite bow to the top of the toe area, securing tightly with a ribbon “knot” center or center design of your choice, and be sure to put a spot of glue between bow and top of toe area. You may also add a center embellishment such as a flower or button. You may glue ric-rack or matching ribbon along the side edge of the flip flop if desired. The possibilities are endless!!
