Default does anyone here make tutu flip flops

I was going to make a pair for my niece and I was wondering how to finish them so the knots don't fall apart. Has anyone ever tried wrapping the straps with satin ribbon, like you would do with the elastic on a tutu? What would I do with the ends of the ribbon? Just wondering if anyone had ever done this before. I've never made flip flops before.

I've never made them before but I found an old thread where she tells how she did it. Here is the photo that goes with them. Maybe this will help?

I made some for Shae a while back. They are cute but she refuses to wear them. I didn't do a slip knot, I did the regular knot. The tulle won't come off but I think that it migt irritate her and that migt be why she won't wear them. Wrapping with ribbon sounds like a good way to go!

hmm ok...what if I put a dot of glue on the strap of the flip flop and then loop it so that when it pulls tight it glues it down, and then cover up the mess by wrapping it with satin ribbon?? I just don't know how to finish the ends of the satin ribbon. Maybe I can tuck it under and stitch it down? I just know my niece is sort of an outside kid and I don't want them to get destroyed the first time she wears them.
