Default Just got the BBM

And apparently I just suck at making bows period. Not even this template can help me. I understand the directions, my bow looks exactly like the example but when I stitch it and take it off the template it just...well it just doesn't look like the bow in the picture. Please tell me there is a learning curve with these (i'm doing the twisted boutique)

Please help!

Sounds like it's just a stitch placement or shaping issue.

Can you post pictures?

Instead of cinching it up, can you try tying it with a clip or gatorbite?

I'd like to follow this thread. I am so compelled to buy the BBM for the twisted bows... but mine arent that bad using the NBNG. It would just be nice to make the process faster/easier.

Let me grab my camera and i'll post some. I really like the template...but I think I may just be bow illiterate! You know, the same way that some people can't follow a recipe? I think that may be me.

I had NBNG templates and I bought this instead. I liked the idea of being able to slide the ribbon in the template to help achieve the look, instead of having to shape it completely on my own.

Here it is. Is this what it's supposed to look like? I played with it a bit more before I took the pictures and I think this may be more what it's supposed to look like.

Try some of these and let us know. Basically it looks really good!!!

1. Flip it over, that is technically the back.

2. Look at the top of the crease. Do you see how the right loop (right by the crease) is kind of slightly folded back? And the top of left loop (right by the crease) is not? That will make a difference in shaping. Neither is right or wrong, you just want symmetry to make the bow look finished.

Still looking at it - your angles are great and symmetrical, and the loops look like they have the same amount of ribbon in each loop. You've basically got it girl! You're not bow illiterate!

I'm following this thread as well thinking I may invest in the templets too; do you recommend that the finished bow be baked or stiffened?
