Default So confused about all the styles of folds

I am looking through all the wonderful free instructions on this site and others, and getting more and more confused by the moment. I am confused about the difference between the folds, and the resulting look of the hair bows. I am reading about standard, boutique, twisted boutique, butterfly, and pinwheel. When I look at the directions I really can't tell what the difference is between some of them...and I don't understand the difference between the results they yield.

Is there some place I can use as a reference to sort this info out, or do y'all recommend buying instructions? I am really trying to avoid buying any because money is so tight and dh will have a fit. Plus I feel like I could use that money to buy ribbon instead. I have been making clippies and corkers and things, but I really want to get into making the fancier bows.

Also, I wanted to ask about these instructions (I am posting link below). They are so different from the other boutique instructions I've seen.

I only have one set of directions - LAMBs (although I am getting TOTT soon!).

I still don't know all the different folds - the reason is, not everyone covers them all, and everyone does them slightly differently.

I personally LOVE the instructions you linked - until I saw those (even after buying instructions!) I never could quite get that fold down.

I think if you look around and ask for help when you need it, you can probably get away without buying any instructions. However, I think you will find that if you are going into business selling them, you may want to buy some just to perfect your technique(s).

HTH!

Michelle has free instructions here, too. The site you linked is good also. Just pick a bow you like the looks of and start from there!

I have tried those instructions and love them. The best I have to agree from ribbon retreat the TOTT instructions.
